Ground yourself in the Word of God
Communicating Love hosted its annual end of summer picnic on Sunday afternoon Oct 6. As He always does, God picked the perfect day and blessed us with the perfect weather. This event gives us a fun afternoon every year to connect with an often forgotten group of people. We get to love on them and their caregivers, offer encouraging hugs and words, and make new connections. Our Sunday night class makes invitations which are sent all over town. This year we estimated 225-250 visitors! We served hot dogs, chicken fingers, and delicious sides. I would like to thank everyone who made desserts and volunteered. We played games and laughed a lot.
We are blessed and thankful for what God does every year!
Becoming more like Jesus means we’re learning to serve and put others first.
For everyone to discover there joy of living a Christ-centered life through service in the fellowship.
That people would become greater disciples of Christ as they serve brothers and sisters in Christ as well as the lost.
God would send laborers into the harvest as we support, encourage, and collaborate with other churches and ministry efforts throughout the city.
Here’s a neat way to remember our prayer focus!

“Believing People Matter” is one of our core values and also serves as our monthly prayer emphasis as we continue pursuing what’s next by launching a new campus downtown. We believe people matter because we hold to the essential truth that every single, individual life has inherent value. When God created man and woman, he declared his creation to be “very good.” In Ephesians, we are referred to as “God’s masterpiece,” the pinnacle of his creative work.
Join us for a landscaping day on Saturday, October 19, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the downtown campus. Many hands are needed! Please fill out the sign up sheet located at the Rivertree Downtown table to let us know you’re coming and if you can bring any tools.
