Worship One, Serve One - First Impressions Ministry

My name is Cheryl. A few years ago I went through a very difficult season after suffering several tragic losses. I was lonely and overcome by grief and pain. Ultimately I quit going to my home church. I chose to commune with God alone, but I was not making reasonable progress toward freedom. I was sinking like a stone. Thankfully my daughter invited me to Rivertree. I made a visit and kept returning. The pull was irresistible. God was drawing me, and I eventually took the “risk” of joining a Life Group. There I found a supportive and loving community. It has become very clear to me that community is not optional. It is essential. I am so thankful for my new and true friends at Rivertree. They have truly been the Body of Christ to me. My heart’s cry to belong led me to the Treehouse service, a smaller, more intimate setting where I felt I would be able to make more people connections. The free and genuine worship there has become my home. I now serve weekly as the Guest Services Coordinator at the Treehouse. I feel needed and am finally able to give the same love and comfort that I received from so many of you. I Worship One, Serve One.

The First Impressions Ministry has nearly 60 volunteers serving each week who greet guests, serve coffee, direct traffic, usher, and help visitors find what they need and where to go. We will need another 30 volunteers for Rivertree South. If you would like more information about serving with the First Impressions Ministry, stop by the Worship One, Serve One table in the lobby this Sunday.
