We need 40 people!

We need 40 people to help on September 14th at the Care Center!

Bags of Blessings is a weekend food security program that has partnered with New Hope Elementary School, Owens Cross Roads School, and Madison County Elementary School to provide meal packs to school children on free breakfast & lunch. In many cases, the meals at school are the only meals these children receive. The meal packs are distributed discreetly into the child’s backpack on Fridays and help supplement children through the weekend. Larger packs are handed out for fall break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, and summer.

By providing weekend food to children, school administration has reported an increase in their attendance, test scores, and a decrease in behavioral issues; ultimately allowing the children to take their focus off their hunger crisis and put it back on their school work and learning.

The CARE center has volunteers pack for a whole month in one night.  We are searching for 40 people from Rivertree to help on September 14th from 6-8pm.  This is something elementary aged kids and up can help.  It is a great way for families to be on mission!
Please RSVP at hstofer@gmail.com as soon as possible if you are able to help! We will pack at the Main Street office.  5439 Main Street in New Hope.
